About Your Stylist, Eddyica
I am, Board certified, and a qualified stylist, licensed for fifteen years. I am dedicated to constantly evolving and maturing in order to remain a great hair care provider.
Dillon A-Technical Center is where, immediately upon graduating high School, I received my license for cosmetology. In addition, Dillon A-Technical Center awarded me the Great Citizenship Award for maturity and the willingness to intermingle with youth from various school districts.
A Touch of Class Beauty Shop in Dillon, South Carolina is where I began my initial internship. Subsequently, in 1997, I was granted reciprocity in the state of Maryland. It was in Maryland my second internship began as an assistant in Berlindas Beauty Salon in Forestville. There I was mentored and cultured in what it takes to become a professional, qualified hair stylist.
My first stylist position was at Crown and Glory Beauty Salon in Clinton, Maryland. There I discovered my gift to make positive contributions to restoration and upkeep of human hair. This too, was the beginning of my dream to effectively touch the lives of others through salon affiliation then ultimately becoming an independent entrepreneur. The ability to develop successfully the skills required to perfect my talent in a salon and to work as a part of a team was crucial in the development of my independence. I gained great customer service, retailing and sufficient management skills.
In 2001, I formed my own business An Anointed Touch by Erica which for a short term, was operated from my in-home salon, licensed, and inspected by the state of Maryland. The clientele for An Anointed Touch by Erica included men, women, boys and girls of all races and nationalities with diverse hair types.
In 2002, I attended Dudley Cosmetology University (DCU) in Kernersville, North Carolina, for Advance Cosmetology of which I am now a DCU alumni member. This training broadened my ideas concerning hair color, cutting also hairstyles for photo shoots.
In 2006, I joined the Hair Care Company located in Camp Springs, Maryland. It was there I discovered, in using their all-natural product line, how sometimes stylists may inadvertently neglect the importance of building and maintaining healthy scalps through focusing on styles and styling the hair. Beautiful, healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp, and a healthy scalp begins with proper attention to the rest of the body. Though no longer an employee of The Hair Care Company, I remain an associate as a platform artist as well as a retail distributor and supporter of the product line. It is the opinion of this stylist; every salon should be using The Hair Care Company products to help promote clients healthy scalp and hair.
In 2008, I managed Grateful Me Hair salon where I sharpened my management skills, which in turn solidified my belief; in order to operate a successful business, you must not only have a plan and vision, you must be willing to continue to learn.
Finally, at present, all roads have led us to Salon Plaza in District Heights, Maryland where stylists are afforded the opportunity to own as well as develop their businesses in a comfortable environment, at an affordable rate. It is here, I pray, An Anointed Touch Beauty Studio will be re-energized and continue to grow.
